Facts about COVID-19 according to the DHEC:
- DO NOT have direct contact with others
- If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 avoid contact with all of those who do not live in your home
- Everyone is at risk of catching the virus
- It is spread by coughing/sneezing in the air, close person to person contact and touching objects with the virus on the surface then touching your face, eyes, or mouth
- Symptoms include a cough, fever, and shortness of breath. These symptoms can range from mild to severe.
- Precautions include: not touching your face, washing your hands regularly and avoiding sick people
- Isolation, where people are separated from all others, is for the sick to stay away from the healthy. Quarantine is for people who may have been exposed and confine themselves to their homes or another location to see if they soon become sick.
