Here is what to expect this Hurricane season here in Myrtle Beach according to NOAA:
-There is a 60% chance that the hurricane season in the Atlantic will be above normal
-There is a 30% chance that the hurricane season in the Atlantic will be average
-There is a 10% chance that the hurricane season in the Atlantic will be below normal
This season appears to increase due to multiple environmental factors. This includes the "high-activity era", which has been a factor since 1995.
It is being warned that every person's hurricane preparedness plans may need to adjust this year due to the CDC guidelines in place for COVID-19. Before this hurricane season, be sure to:
-Make a list of supplies you may need and restock your hurricane kit
-Check with your insurance companies to make sure any property of yours that could be damaged do to hazardous weather is covered
-Check which zone you live in so that if an evacuation takes place, you will know whether or not you are in that ratio
